Goya Curtain is pleased to announce the first show at our new Ikebukuro space – An exhibition by New Zealand based painter Stella Corkery.
Corkery’s practice occupies an experimental space in painting, favoring themes of gesture, improvisation and abstraction. At Goya Curtain she will present a series of paintings on velvet from 2017. Exploring themes of migration, camping and non-place, the paintings depict a range of lyrical figures, such as dancing road cones and musical notes, inscribed into thickly painted surfaces.
